Aida

Aida is characterised by its long harvest period, its very firm fruit pulp as well as its high Brix-values.

Moldvai fekete x H 236, IV -13/20

Growth:

harmonious tree structure, slight balding by stronge blossom formation on the one-year wood, characterised by reddish shoot tops on budding

Blossom:

early  blossoming, self-sterile, S-Allele, sterility group S6S12, group 24 (source: JKI, Dr. Mirko Schuster); good pollinator varieties are Samba ® Sumste (S), Giorgia, Burlat, Early Korvik (S),Merchant, Satin ® Sumele (S), Bellise ® Bedel, Lapins, Sweetheart ® Sumtare (S) 

Ripeness:

4th cherry week, consistently ripening, long harvest period 

Appearance:

large to very large fruit with wide heat-shape, with deep stem deepening and thick, medium long stem, colour: brown-black-red

Quality:

very firm (to the bite), when fully riped the fruit pulp is black-red, high Brix-values

Taste:

pleasantly aromatic

Crop yield:

medium to high

Special notes:

It is recommended to have the varieties effectively matured – when harvested too early they might have an unharmonious taste with a slightly bitter note.
