Aroma-strong variety, even suitable for colder regions because of high tolerance to frosts in late winter.

Growth:

growth is rather strong, with thin shoots, medium branchings, dense, ball-shaped crown, partially overhanging, good ability to regenerate after cutting measures

Blossom:

medium late, diploid, good pollen creator

Ripeness:

July, harvested shortly before becoming ripe for consumption

Color:

bright luminious red when fully ripe, basic colour yellowish-orange to orange-red, body colour blood-red, slightly shiny, approx. 33 to 50 % sprayed, partly marbled

Appearance:

fruit shape is flattened, longish, slightly pointed, very low hairy fruit skin, large to very large, medium individual fruit weight approx. 85 g/fruit, on the 'Hinduka'-selections up to 100 g/fruit

Quality:

very low tendency to burst in semi-ripe and ripe condition of the fruits

Taste:

fruit flesh fully ripe, juicy, strong flavour, comparable with 'Orange red®'; bitter almond

Crop yield:

good, regular; very consistent and concentrated sorting on the tree 

Special notes:

Despite high infection pressure no Sharka (plum pox virus) infestation; in permanent grassland medium susceptibility to shoot infections with  Monilia, active reaction and closing of infection sources after infestation.
Parallel clone to 'Hilde'; dessert product, orcharding in direct marketing firms, winterfrost-hard, no wood frost damages during the period 1992 to 2004; high tolerance to frosts in late winter.
