Colora
A coloured specialty, certainly not to be found at the supermarket – the colourful plum for the home garden and direct marketing with attractive visual effect and early onsetting yields.
Parents:
Ortenauer x R. Gerstetter
Growth:
medium strong to strong, broadly oval
Blossom:
late, partially self-fertilising
Ripeness:
end of July to end of August
Appearance:
medium-sized, longish oval, yellow-green fruit skin with red cheek
Quality:
juicy, stone loosens out well, somewhat soft
Taste:
harmonious, sweet and sourish and aromatic
Crop yield:
early onsetting, medium high to high
Special notes:
Hardly susceptible to fungal diseases and sharka (plum pox virus) virus; thinning is recommended, because taste is insufficient in an over-crop situation; a brightly coloured enrichment in the direct marketing.
