Coralin

‚Coralin‘ is a breeding of the Julius Kühn Institute in Dresden-Pillnitz and convinces by its health, its ripening period, which is significantly shorter than that of 'Morello', and its fruit qualities, especially the highly coloured fruit juice with a very high anthocyanin content. Thanks to these qualities 'Coralin' is perfect for processing.

Parents:

‚Kelleriis 16‘ x ‚P10,17,5‘(‚Morello‘ x ‚Köröser‘)

Growth:

medium and upright growth with a good branching

Blossom:

late, together with 'Morello', self-fertile

Ripeness:

late, 6th calender week, few days before 'Morello'

Appearance:

medium size, dark red, very intense colour

Quality:

moderately firm, small pit, can be removed easily from the pit, very good for mechanical harvesting

Taste:

good, fruity aroma, well-balanced ratio of sugar to acid

Crop yield:

good and regular average yields

Special notes:

healthy variety, very tolerant to fungal leaf diseases, quite susceptible to monilia disease; due to its upright growth and the fact that the pit can be removed very easily, it is particularly suitable for mechanical harvesting
