Morina

Due to its refreshing and harmonious flavour ,Morina' is especially suited for preparing jelly, juice or compote. Simple cultivation is guaranteed: well suited for being grown as spindle, robust and well-suited for mechanical harvest.

Growth:

Medium-strenght growth, upright with slightly drooping shoots. Blossom buds even on short shoots, crown hardly with blind wood.

Blossom:

medium-early, partially self-fertile, good pollinators are for example: ,Ungarische Traubige' or ,Schattenmorelle'

Ripeness:

about 1 week before ,Schattenmorelle'

Appearance:

large, roundish fruits, brown red skin

Quality:

firm flesh, fruit releases easily and dry from the stalk

Taste:

refreshing sour

Crop yield:

regular and of medium height

Special notes:

Healthy variety, hardly susceptible to Monilia and fungal leaf diseases, tolerant to “Stecklenberger” disease. Fruiting can be stimulated by grafting onto a slowly growing rootstock. The variety is recommended by the Bayerische Landesanstalt für Weinbau und Gartenbau (LVG) (standard assortment for house and allotment gardens).
