Pirella Pirol

Pirella is an attractive, large-fruited  variety of autumn with fine fruit quality and high yields for commercial and private orcharding. It impresses mainly by its fine juicy fruit pulp.

Growth:

medium strong, broad spindle-shaped with good branching, thick fruit branches, densely covered with short fruit wood

Blossom:

medium early, low frost-sensitive; blossom beset varies between very high and somewhat lower; diploid; good pollinators are Piros, James Grieve, Reglindis, Idared, Retina

Ripeness:

Fruit ripe for picking: mid until the end of September, ripening somewhat later so that two or more picking actions are necessary; ripe for consumption: from harvest to late November

Appearance:

large to very large, high-built, slightly ribbed fruits, bright green, smooth fruit skin with bright red grain

Quality:

fruit pulp yellowish, medium firm (to the bite), very fine and juicy

Taste:

strong, refreshing sweet and sourish with fruity aroma

Crop yield:

early onsetting, high to very high, somewhat irregular
